Trace McSorley Named Finalist For Unitas Award

Everybody’s favorite quarterback continues to excel

NCAA Football: Rutgers at Penn State Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Weeks ago, we posted a piece on Trace McSorley being one of 10 remaining candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

McSorley has continued to impress and his numbers have landed him as one of five finalists for the award given each year to the senior or fourth-year quarterback which best displays both a high level of play and leadership qualities on and off the field.

On the field, McSorley has improved in nearly every facet in 2017. The redshirt junior has completed 206 passes for 2,666 yards and 21 touchdowns on 65 percent passing.

While he’s already matched the number of interceptions he threw in 2016, McSorley is attempting more passes per game than last season and is on pace to eclipse his season high numbers for yards and touchdowns.
