The Tale
Tolu Jacobs has been flying under the radar, mostly due to missing the July live period with injury. The big man had offers from a number of schools early, but many of those backed away once Tolu went down for the summer.
Penn State came in late after one of their last targets committed elsewhere, and competed with Georgetown and Nevada for Tolu’s services. The center chose the Nittany Lions over the Wolf Pack and Hoyas.
Outlook
Because of both injury and depth, Tolu probably won’t see the floor much this upcoming season, but the staff is planning for the future, as Julian Moore leaves after this season, and both Mike Watkins and Satchel Pierce could be gone a season later depending on how everything shakes out. Tolu could use the redshirt year to develop and ensure that any lingering effects of injury are well behind him.
Welcome to Penn State, Tolu!
