A few familiar faces return to the depth chart leading up to the Fiesta Bowl at the end of the month. Ryan Bates is healthy enough to be listed at right tackle, although he won’t be starting. Chasz Wright will remain in that role. Tommy Stevens appears as the lone player in a new “Lion” position, suggesting that we may see his utilization increase against the Huskies in the bowl game. Not sure how UW’s coaching staff will prepare to deal with the versatile Stevens. There are no lions on their depth chart, but Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo does have a few.
On defense, Ryan Buchholz returns as the starting defensive end, and will hopefully provide the outside pass-rush which has been lacking in his absence. With Buchholz returning, Kevin Givens will move back to his standard role at defensive tackle.
In other news, Manny Bowen is still absent from the depth chart, not a good sign for his future at Penn State. Andre Robinson and Alex Barbir, who have announced their intent to transfer, are also gone from the depth chart.
