National Signing Day (#NotMySigningDay) is kind of upon us. I say “kind of” because this is the first period of when kids can sign, with the second period being the normal first week in February. Let’s go over some need-to-know information.
WHEN?
Prospects can sign any time between December 20th-22nd, but expect 98% of prospects to sign on the 20th.
WHO?
Penn State is expecting the signature of 19 of its 20 commits. The lone commit not expected to sign is ATH Shaquon Anderson-Butts, who is still working out things behind the scenes.
WHO ELSE?
Good question, Patrick. Five-star DE/LB/TE/RB/Thoroughbred Micah Parsons will be making his college commitment tomorrow morning, and will be signing with said school in the process. Four-star WR Jahan Dotson, currently a UCLA commit, will also be signing tomorrow, and Penn State will be the choice a hat on the table.
There’s been murmurs that Jayson Oweh may sign tomorrow, but he wouldn’t announce anything until the Under Armour All-American game in January. DE Tyreke Smith (who is now trending heavily to Ohio State), OT Rasheed Walker, WR Solomon Enis, and DT Tyler Friday will all wait until February to sign.
WHERE & WHAT?
Here at BSD, we’ll be posting an Open Thread in the morning that we’ll update throughout the day as signatures come in. We’ll also have an overview of the offensive and defensive classes at some point during the day. Player profiles will be coming in January in the lead to the real National Signing Day.
I’m sure you already are because BSD is the only Penn State sports blog on the internet, but if you aren’t already, please be sure to follow us on Twitter @BSDTweet.
