Oh Goodbye: Michigan OL Antwan Reed decommits from Penn State

The Nittany Lions coaching staff will now likely press for a commitment from another highly touted offensive lineman


Former Penn State commit Antwan Reed announced today that he no longer plans to continue his football career in State College.

Reed, a 4-star offensive lineman rated as the 275th best player in the country by’s industry composite rankings, committed to the Nittany Lions at the Blue-White game on April 22, 2017.

The loss of Reed drops Penn State’s 2018 class to 20 commits and three offensive lineman, though it may not finish that way.

The Penn State staff has long been in pursuit of 4-star offensive lineman Rasheed Walker. Walker, a Maryland native, is rated as the 80th best player in the country and the sixth best offensive tackle.

The crystal ball predictions on show Penn State as the heavy favorite for Walker over Ohio State and Walker is expected to take an official visit to Happy Valley on Dec. 8 along with a number of already committed prospects.
