The Story

Just one day after the decommitment of offensive lineman Chris Bleich, Penn State got back on the horse and this time James Franklin landed a big one.

Four-star tackle Nana Asiedu announced on his personal twitter account Saturday that he had committed to Penn State.

Outlook

Asiedu becomes the 12th commit of the 2018 class and the fifth-highest rated. With Bleich’s decommitment, Asiedu also becomes the first offensive lineman in the 2018 class.

Not only is Asiedu a notable commitment due to his high rating and the need at the position, it also means Penn State grabbed a pledge from one of the nation’s elite talents who was thought to be a lock to commit to defending national champions Clemson as recently as two months ago.

Given his outstanding size and wingspan, to go along with elite athleticism, Asiedu looks like a prime candidate to play left tackle for the Nittany Lions and protect the blind side of five-star QB commit Justin Fields.
