Bring on the Terps! - Penn State Women’s Lacrosse defeated Princeton on Sunday to advance to the semifinals, where Maryland awaits the Nittany Lions. This makes the 11th Final Four appearance for the Lions, and second straight. If Penn State gets past Maryland, they’ll face one of two unseeded teams making up the other side of the bracket, as both Boston College and Navy upset seeded teams (Navy taking down No. 2 seed North Carolina) to make the Final Four.
And while we’re at it... - Three Women’s Lacrosse players earned All-America honors last week: Steph Lazo, the first IWLCA First-Team All-American in 13 years; Katie O’Donnell and Madison Carter earned themselves second-team honors.
Golf done did it too! - The Men’s Golf team reached the NCAA finals for the first time since 2010. Cole Miller won the individual championship at 7-under, a feat which, again, had not been achieved since TJ Howe did it in 2010.
The schedule is set. - The Legends Classic recently announced the schedule for this upcoming season, which confirmed two of Penn State’s four opponents in the event. The Lions will face Montana on November 15, will head to Barclays Center on November 20 to face Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, or Pitt, and will advance to the Championship round on November 21 to the championship game (against the winner of the other pairing). Penn State closes out the schedule with a visit from Oral Roberts on November 24th.
- Bill Connelly at SBNation has a plan for upgrading college football.
- The Gavitt Tipoff Games have been announced... and they’re boring.
- The Warriors swept the Spurs to enter the NBA finals at 12-0. Maybe Durant will get that ring after all...
That’s all for today.
