Tight end Nick Bowers is one of a talented group of Nittany Lions that has been unable to see the field due to injury so far in his college career. The redshirt sophomore was the 14th ranked tight end in the nation by ESPN coming out of Kittanning (PA) High School in 2014, and sat out his true freshman season in 2015. It was thought that Bowers could have had a role in the offense in 2016 along with Mike Gesicki (especially with the April dismissal of Brent Wilkerson), but Bowers suffered a season-ending injury in August. It remains to be seen if Bowers will play a significant role in 2017-but he should begin the season as the second tight end behind Gesicki, with redshirt fresman Danny Dalton (stay tuned for more on him later this week) third.
Until the season, just a reminder of Bowers’ athleticism. Hope we can see this on the field!
Not bad for a 270lb TE... Over a 6'0 wide receiver ⚪️ @Nbowers28 pic.twitter.com/OyXuWlci16
