Our countdown hits 77 days until the Zips come to Beaver Stadium, and we look at one of BSD’s favorite players, redshirt junior offensive lineman Chasz Wright. After appearing in 10 games as a redshirt freshman in 2015, Wright played in 14 games and started the last five contests during the 2016 season. As both a guard and tackle, Wright proved to be very dependable and enabled Saquon Barkley and Trace McSorley to run wild against Indiana, Rutgers, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and USC. Barkley’s somewhat legendary touchdown run against the Trojans started on the right side of the line, where Wright’s block allowed him to bounce outside. His large frame (At 6’7’’, 343 pounds, he is one of the largest Nittany Lions on the roster) also is ideal for pass protection, no matter what spot he lines up at during the 2017 season. Look for Chasz to put together another solid output in his junior year.
