Only Johnnie Troutman Until Penn State Football

We’re getting closer, folks. Just 74 more days until Penn State takes the field at Beaver Stadium and begins to defend its Big Ten championship.

For those of you new to Penn State football, Johnnie Troutman is one of the most underrated players of the past decade. The Pemberton, New Jersey native was a three year starter at left guard from 2009-2011. Troutman was able to slip under the radar by rarely giving up a sack or committing a penalty. He just went out with each possession and continually got the job done as one of the leaders of the interior line. He would go on to become a fifth round draft pick by the San Diego Chargers, where he played from 2012-2015.
