Only Zach Simpson Until Penn State Football

After his high school career was over at Hollidaysburg, Zach Simpson decided to stay local, walking onto the football team at Penn State. He redshirted his first year on campus before contributing on special teams this past fall.

Out of all the walk-on offensive linemen, Simpson is the most highly-touted of the group. He has good size at 6-foot-3, 292 pounds, and is a solid athlete to boot. While it might be a stretch to see him ever start a game in Happy Valley, expect to see Simpson’s name be a mainstay on the depth chart in the coming seasons.

Off the field, Simpson is majoring in Engineering, which means he’s way smarter than I am. He also shares a birthday (June 22) with Meryl Streep, Cyndi Lauper, and Kurt Warner. That’s neat.
