Well before he became the internet’s favorite fruit seller in southern California, Eric Cole was part of Penn State’s vaunted 1995 recruiting class. A versatile lineman and sleeper player, Cole played almost every position on the line in his five-year period with the Nittany Lions, including starting his final three seasons in the blue and white.
Cole’s time at PSU was one of the most prolific five-year time frames in Penn State history, with all teams ranked and playing a very tough Big Ten schedule. He was named to the All-Big Ten 2nd Team his final season.
Hailing from Unionville (where he helped them to the first winning team in a decade, per the Collegian, and was a team captain for four different sports), Cole signed an UDFA contract with the Redskins after going undrafted in 2000. He eventually found himself playing in the XFL before hanging up the cleats and embracing the tangelos.
Fifty-one days, everybody!
