Anderson-Butts picked up his Penn State offer all the way back in 2015 and was thought by many to be a Penn State lock. A teammate of 2017 signee Damion Barber and 2018 target Micah Parsons at Harrisburg High, there was talk of the three continuing to play together in college. While Parsons’ decommitment and a few new offers rocked the boat a bit, Anderson-Butts eventually made the call for the good guys.
While Anderson-Butts (SAB? We’ll go with SAB) is listed as a wide receiver, don’t be surprised if the staff tries him at a number of positions in his freshman year which will likely be a redshirt year. That decision could be determined by the number of wide receivers Penn State takes in the 2018 class. The Nittany Lions are thought by many to be the leaders for four-star wideouts Daniel George, Jahan Dotson and Solomon Enis.
What Anderson-Butts lacks in top-end speed, he makes up for in fluidity and sure hands. The future Penn Stater was a key part of a dynamic offense that led Harrisburg to the PIAA championship in 2016 and could well to the same in 2017.
