We’re 62 days until Penn State kicks off the 2017 season against (who else?) the Akron Zips, and redshirt freshman offensive lineman Michal Menet is our man of the hour!
The tower of power straight out of Exeter Township Senior High School was an all-everything recruit on the offensive line, with most believing he could step in immediately to the two-deep and contribute as a true freshman. Half of that ended up being true, as Menet was apparently terrific during his first few months on campus. Adding weight and conserving eligibility were top priorities, though, meaning a redshirt season was the preferred path.
Now, Menet returns and could play literally any of the positions on the offensive line as a redshirt freshman. Although he sat out with an injury in this spring’s Blue/White Game, you can expect to see number 62 mashing defensive lineman up front all season long.
