We’re 56 days until the Penn State Nittany Lions kick off the 2017 season against the Akron Zips, and senior Tyrell Chavis is our man of the hour!
Out of Michael Robinson’s Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia, Chavis initially signed with the Virginia Cavaliers before spending prep time at Fork Union Military Academy (with former Lions quarterback Christian Hackenberg) and then two years at Nassau Community College. With two years of eligibility remaining, Chavis saw a depth chart in need of assistance and signed with Penn State in 2016. Last season, Chavis saw action in each and every game on the schedule, recording 13 tackles and eating up space on the interior. Now, he looks to continue his contributions to a championship caliber squad.
Good luck this year, Tyrell!
