Marcus Allen could be basking in NFL riches right about now. Instead, the hard-hitting senior safety and fourth-year starter is now poised for his best year yet, perhaps surpassing his team-leading 110 tackles last season. He’s also on four different preseason award watch lists. Allen was also the blocker in the famed ‘Block Six’ play that led to a season-changing victory over Ohio State.
Shout-out also goes to Tommy Stevens, who rocks the #2 jersey on the offensive side of the ball. As Trace McSorley’s backup, one can take solace in the fact that if Trace gets hurt and has to leave the game, the offense should not skip a beat with Tommy quarterbacking things.
Can you feel it, yet? We only need to make it through today and tomorrow until we get to see our beloved Nittany Lions take the field once again.
