Allen was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week after recording 12 tackles and one pass breakup.
The award is named after former hard-hitting safety Ronnie Lott and is given weekly to “college football’s defensive IMPACT player.” At the end of the year, the Pacific Club IMPACT foundation also names a player of the year.
Allen becomes the second Big Ten player in as many weeks to be named the player of the week, following Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell.
In 2015, Carl Nassib was named the club’s player of the year.
