Penn State Men’s Hockey Names James Robinson 2017-18 Team Captain

After a magical run in the 2016-17 season, Penn State Men’s Hockey is ready to get back at it in 2017-18.

Today, the program announced that senior James Robinson will wear the “C” and replace 2017 graduate David Goodwin as the team’s captain.

Robinson scored three goals and added one assist playing mostly on the bottom six last season.

The team also named senior Erik Autio and junior Chase Berger as alternate captains.

Autio, a Finnish defenseman, scored three goals and added 15 assists as part of the top pairing with Vince Pedrie.

Berger, meanwhile, was one of the team’s top offensive performers, scoring 13 goals and adding 23 assists while also being one of the team’s top play drivers.
