Updates on a pair of New England secondary prospects, while Penn State stays busy in Florida.

New England DB in for Junior Day

Three-star Connecticut defensive back Tyler Rudolph will be in attendance for Penn State’s Junior Day on February 3, according to Sean Fitz of Lions247. Rudolph landed his offer from the Nittany Lions when he visited for the Nebraska game in late November. He also claims offers from Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Maryland, amongst others.

At 6-foot-1, 197 pounds, Rudolph has the versatility to play safety or cornerback, which is something Penn State always likes with its secondary prospects — i.e. Tariq Castro-Fields and Jordan Miner — so Rudolph will be one to keep an eye on.

Connecticut CB Lands Ohio State Offer

Sticking with the New England theme, the Buckeyes have joined the race for Connecticut cornerback Marquis Wilson.

Now holding offers from Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State, Wilson is accumulating quite the offer list, which isn’t a surprise because his highlight film is *fire emoji* *fire emoji*. He’s currently a 247Sports Composite three-star, but he’ll shoot up the rankings in time.

His recruitment is just getting started, but the Nittany Lions should be in the thick of things for Wilson. He’s already visited Happy Valley — taking in the Pitt game back in September — and one would imagine he’ll be back in town at some point this spring, potentially for a spring practice or the Blue and White game.

Penn State Offers Virginia Jumbo Athlete

North Carolina commit Hakeem Beamon had a productive weekend, earning an offer from Alabama on Saturday, and landing an offer from the Nittany Lions on Sunday.

At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, Beamon already has the size to play defensive end, but is a kid who should grow into a defensive tackle. He’s visited Penn State twice already — the first time for the Georgia State game, and the second time for the Michigan game — and is another prospect that should make his way back to campus at some point this spring.

Quick Hitters

  • With the new addition of ace Florida recruiter Ja’Juan Seider to the staff, it should come as no surprise that Penn State is staying busy in Florida. The Nittany Lions offered CB Tyrique Stevenson, ATH Mark Richards, and WR John Dunmore within the last few days, and I’d assume a few more Florida offers will be going out in the coming weeks.
  • Although he doesn’t have a Penn State offer yet, PA LB Keith Maguire had quite the weekend, landing offers from Northwestern, Boston College, and Notre Dame. Connecting the dots here, but Maguire is an Irish kid from the Philadelphia area that attends a Catholic high school — you can probably see where I’m going with this.
  • In other Notre Dame news, the Fighting Irish picked up a commitment from KJ Wallace. Wallace visited Penn State for the Michigan game, and attends the alma mater of Grant Haley. The Nittany Lions aren’t hurting for options in the secondary, but nonetheless, a name to take off the board.
