For the first time since 2008-09, Penn State football has finished in the AP Top 10 in back-to-back seasons.
After an 11-2 season and a Fiesta Bowl win, the Nittany Lions finished the season ranked No. 8 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
This marks the 24th time in program history Penn State has finished in the AP Top 10.
According to a press release from the athletic department, The victory was Penn State’s 29th bowl victory, which ranks tied for eighth in FBS history, and was the seventh in the Fiesta Bowl. The 11-win season is the 16th in Penn State history and seventh since joining the Big Ten.
The Nittany Lions will have a good chance to made it a third-consecutive Top 10 finish in 2018 as they’ve been around or in the Top 10 in many of the “way-too-early” polls released for next season.
