Michael Johnson Jr. continued to make plays with both his right arm and his legs for the Sheldon (OR) Irish. In a 45-20 victory, Johnson rushed for 142 yards which included a 93-yard touchdown run. Through the air, he was 12/20 for 130 yards, a touchdown, and a pair of interceptions.
Johnson Jr.’s fellow quarterback commit, Taquan Roberson, also had a big game on Friday night. Leading the DePaul Catholic (NJ) Spartans to a 44-19 victory and a 6-1 record, Roberson was 11/24 for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Up in the state of Michigan, future Nittany Lion linebacker Lance Dixon played a big role in the West Bloomfield Lakers improving to 6-2 on the season. In a 27-21 victory over previously undefeated Oak Park, Dixon rushed for 105 yards and a pair of Laker touchdowns. Also, in the second quarter he recorded a sack to set up a punt that he blocked. On the JUCO circuit, the Lackawanna Falcons improved to 7-0 with a 21-7 victory over Monroe College. Safety Jaquan Brisker had 7 tackles, a sack, and a tackle for a loss. Offensive tackle Anthony Whigan helped pave the way for 234 Falcon rushing yards.
Future Nittany Lion wide receiver Emery Simmons continues to play a big role for the now 7-0 South View (NC) Tigers. While he had just 33 yards of total offense, and was kept out of the end zone for the first time all season, in Friday’s 20-16 victory, he had an interception in the closing minute that sealed the game for the Tigers.
In Florida, fellow wide receiver commit John Dunmore played a key role in a 35-21 victory for Chaminade-Madonna over Booker T. Washington. Dunmore took the top off the Washington defense with a 75-yard touchdown reception in the victory.

Running back Devyn Ford helped the North Stafford (VA) Wolverines improve to 5-1 on the season with a 49-14 victory. In the win, Ford racked up 114 all-purpose yards and he rushed for a touchdown.
Tight end Brenton Strange helped the Parkersburg (WV) Big Red improve to 5-3 on the season by rushing for a touchdown, and catching six passes for 84 yards. He also recorded five tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, and a sack.
State College Little Lion star Keaton Ellis was held in check by Central Dauphin on Friday night. In a 35-28 Little Lions victory, Ellis caught four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 3 yards.
