Penn State’s 33-28 win in Bloomington on Saturday didn’t put much confidence into the fan base, but the win was enough for the Nittany Lions to move up to No. 17 in this week’s AP Poll.

The Nittany Lions are one of five Big Ten teams in this week’s AP Poll but there’s a new leader of the pack as Michigan is ranked No. 5 in the country following a 21-7 win over Michigan State. Ohio State fell out of the top 10 to No. 11 following a beat down in West Lafayette on Saturday night, while Iowa sits one spot behind the Nittany Lions at No. 18. Wisconsin rounds out the Big Ten teams at No. 20.
Another team worth noting is the Appalachian State Mountaineers who have entered have entered the top 25 for the first time in program history. They debut at No. 25.
