Roll. Damn. Boilermakers.

We’ve now seen this twice in two seasons from Ohio State, getting dominated in a very winnable conference game. Kirk Herbstreit may have an explanation for some of the Buckeyes problems this season.

Ohio State’s loss may leave Penn State’s path to a top-flight bowl game in flux.

That path starts this Saturday against Iowa. Hawkeyes’ head coach Kirk Ferentz, much like every head coach Penn State has played this season, had plenty of praise for Trace McSorley.

Sticking with the quarterbacks, backup Tommy Stevens has had a rough go this season. After starting the year recovering from an injury, Stevens hasn’t been the same threat in the “Lion” position as he was last season. That changed against Indiana.

Also looking to make more of an impact is freshman Micah Parsons, and he understands how he can improve his game to earn more playing time. Some of Parsons’ classmates will also try to earn snaps on the other side of the ball.

At times this season, Penn State has looked like a true title contender. Ben Jones analyzed a few stats from the season and how they stack up compared to the rest of the nation.
