It wouldn’t be Penn State basketball season if things went smoothly, right?
Satchel Pierce has been ruled academically ineligible for the first semester of Penn State’s 2018-19 men’s basketball season.

According to StateCollege.com’s Ben Jones, backup center Satchel Pierce has been ruled academically ineligible for the first semester of the Nittany Lions season.
While Pierce, a redshirt senior who transferred from Virginia Tech, played sparingly in the 2017-18 season, he’s one of only a handful of bigs on the Penn State roster and, at 7-foot, 255 pounds, is the largest player on the roster.
Luckily for the Nittany Lions, should things go well in the fall Pierce will be back in time for the majority of the Big Ten season, during which they’ll likely need him during a grueling conference schedule.
