Penn State Opens as a Big Favorite Over Rutgers

The Nittany Lions will travel to Piscataway as yuuuuuuge favorites this weekend

NCAA Football: Rutgers at Penn State Matthew O’Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Following a 22-10 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers, the 7-3 Penn State Nittany Lions are preparing to travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, to play the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. As expected, the Nittany Lions will enter this game as heavy favorites. 26.5 point favorites to be exact.

Owning a 1-9 record, 0-7 in the Big Ten, the Scarlet Knights are arguably the worst power five conference team in the FBS. Since defeating Texas State 35-7 in their season opener, Rutgers has lost nine games in a row while being outscored 336-110. Hell, Rutgers Football is one of the absolute worst P5 sports programs in the entire country.

Since Rutgers joined the Big Ten this series has been very one sided. After a 35-6 victory last season, the Nittany Lions are 4-0 against the Scarlet Knights in Big Ten games having outscored the Knights 105-19. In fact, it has been 213 minutes and 28 seconds of game time and over four calendar years since the Scarlet Knights last scored a touchdown against Penn State.

Kickoff from HighPoint.com Stadium is scheduled for noon on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network and BTN 2 Go.
