In the 10th week of the season (and the third week these rankings are released), Penn State football has moved up to 14 in the playoff rankings, back into the top fifteen after a week at 20.
Michigan (4) and Ohio State (10) are the only other two Big Ten teams ranked; after beating ranked Iowa last week, B1G West winner Northwestern is the only team in that division to be ranked at number 22.
The game against Wisconsin this past week saw PSU play the most complete game it had in quite a while, perhaps as far back as September. The Nittany Lions are poised to break into the top ten if a few things break their way; they could squeeze their way into a third-straight New Year’s Six Bowl if the cards fall just right.
