Saturday afternoon the Penn State Nittany Lions will welcome the Maryland Terrapins into Beaver Stadium for their 2018 senior day. The 8-3 Nittany Lions may be a win away from clinching a third consecutive New Years Six Bowl bid, and they will enter their regular season finale as 14-point favorites.
In 2014, during their first year in the Big Ten, Maryland upset the Nittany Lions in Happy Valley 21-19 on a last second field goal. Since then, the series has been dominated by Penn State. The Nittany Lions have won the last three games by a combined score of 135-47.
Maryland is coming off a gut-wrenching 52-51 overtime loss against Ohio State. The Terps elected to go for two and the win, but quarterback Tyrell Pigrome missed an open receiver as the ball fluttered to the ground. With this loss, the Terps are now 5-6 on the season and must win Saturday to become bowl eligible.
Saturday’s kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM from Beaver Stadium. The 2018 regular season finale can be viewed on ABC.
