Commits In Action: Emery Simmons, Devyn Ford Help Lead Teams To Playoff Victories & More

High school football playoff SZN continues to carry on for future Nittany Lions across the country

As he has done much of the season, wide receiver Emery Simmons led the charge this week. In 26-21 playoff victory for the South View (NC) Tigers, Simmons caught five passes for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also recorded eight tackles for the Tiger defense.

In Virginia, running back Devyn Ford and the North Stafford Wolverines advanced in playoff action with a 36-0 victory over Mountain View. Ford had 11 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 72-yard pick-six for the Wolverine defense.

Keaton Ellis and the State High Little Lions advanced to the next round of the state playoffs with a 56-19 victory over Delaware Valley. Ellis helped to thwart an attempted Delaware Valley rally by returning a kickoff for a score.

Quarterback commit Michael Johnson Jr. was 6/12 for 132 yards a touchdown and an interception in a 38-26 playoff victory for the Sheldon (OR) Irish. MJJ also rushed for a nice 69 yards and a score.

In Florida, wide receiver John Dunmore and the Chaminade-Madonna Prep Tigers blasted Palmer Trinity High School 62-0 to advance in the state playoffs. You can checkout Dunmore’s highlights from the game below.

Tight end Brenton Strange’s high school career came to an end on Friday night when the Parkersburg (WV) Big Red were defeated by Martinsburg 49-20. In the loss Strange hauled in eight passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. He also had six tackles including a TFL.
