Gavin Teasdale Steps Away From Penn State, Wrestling Program

Teasdale plans to re-enroll in January.

Penn State wrestling fans got a bit of unexpected news on Tuesday morning.

True freshman Gavin Teasdale announced on his twitter account that he has left the university due to health reasons and plans to re-enroll.

Teasdale, a four-time Pennsylvania state champion, was redshirting and had yet to appear to Cael Sanderson’s team but was expected to factor into the plans at 125.

Teasdale was expected to do battle with fellow true frosh Brody Teske for that position, while Devin Schnupp holds it for the time being.

Teske will now likely assume the starting role at some point this season.

While there is no word on whether Teasdale is expected to return to the team in January should he re-enroll, he is currently no longer listed on the roster.
