It’s bowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwl season everybody! And with that comes all sorts of news that’s fit to print, from the bowl of Christmas past to the bowls of Christmas present.

A spoonful of sugar helps the 9-3 go down. Congratulations to Nittany Lion legend and exceptional color commentator Todd Blackledge on his upcoming induction into the Sugar Bowl Hall of Fame. Blackledge, of course, led Penn State to its first “official” National Title of the modern era by beating the Georgia Bulldogs in the 1983 Sugar Bowl. This is pretty famous:

Meanwhile, in the Citrus Bowl of Christmas present. Yahoo! Sports “power ranked” this year’s bowl schedule. Unsurprisingly, the Heisman Bowl (also known as the Orange Bowl) comes in at number 1, with Kyler Murray taking on Tua Tagovailoa. The Nittany Lions contest with the Kentucky Wildcats comes in 7th. Honestly, that seems pretty high, but Yahoo!’s pretty stoked about Benny Snell, Trace McSorley, and Miles Sanders. Hat tip to them for incorporating Saquon Barkley’s name in the write-up for hits, as if Miles hasn’t heard enough comparisons to the greatest rookie of all-time this year.

Trace’s Last Stand. The SBN Mothership loves the Citrus Bowl for the same reason Yahoo! Sports does - “It’s your last chance to watch Trace McSorley play college football.”

...Well, that’s just miserable...

Trace vs. Josh. ESPN has a similar take to SBN and Yahoo! The Worldwide Leader is into individual matchups, and Kentucky all-world linebacker Josh Allen getting a chance to blunt Trace’s famous touchdown celebrations is a pretty good one.

Tens Across the Board. Meanwhile, Onward State discusses Penn State’s opportunity to win 10 games in three consecutive seasons, and it’s place in history.

And finally...for those of you online at work (you know who you are...everyone), an old Citrus Bowl against an SEC opponent to get you through the day:
