Secondary Switcheroo It didn’t take long for Lamont Wade to see playing time as a true freshman in 2017, and could be in store for much bigger things in 2018. Wade has officially changed positions, moving from cornerback to safety. With Marcus Allen and Troy Apke out of eligibility, Wade seems to be in fine position for a starting spot this fall. Speaking of Wade, Victory Bell Rings makes the case for him to be the breakout star for the Nittany Lions this upcoming season.

The Return of Reid Penn State was without one of its top defensive players last season, as cornerback John Reid was forced to miss the entire season after tearing his ACL in spring camp. Now he’s ready to make up for missed time and should be ready to roll by the start of spring ball.

Coach Lavar The one and only Lavar Arrington is headed to Pasadena as the new head football coach for Maranatha High School. If I can give some advice to any of Arrington’s future players, it’s to never, ever, ever let him catch you slacking on the field. Trust me, if Lavar Arrington has to scream in your face, there’s a good chance you’re going to ruin a perfectly good pair of pants. Fortunately, Arrington still plays an active part at Penn State, and has been giving tips to incoming freshman Micah Parsons, who is set to make ballcarriers suffer wearing the same #11.

The company is making a $1 contribution to THON for each ride through campus this week. Spend some time on THON’s website before this weekend to learn about some of the families THON supports, and the many ways you can contribute to this cause.

The Return of the Mountaineers Penn State is set to resume a heated rivalry in 2023 with West Virginia, which has been on hiatus since the Nittany Lions joined the Big Ten. Onward State takes a look back for the generation(s) of Penn State fans who have yet to participate in this once-great regional rivalry. While you’re thinking of future schedules, here are Penn State’s scheduled non-conference opponents through 2025.

Shane’s #1 Fan Defensive end Shane Simmons received an awesome piece of fan mail from his biggest fan. Simmons returned the favor by taking the time to thank his new bud, Travis.
