Andre White Wins Top Linebacker Honor
Three-star Harrisburg LB Andre White traveled all the way to Santa Clara for a Nike Opening camp, and it appears the trip was well worth it as White won the MVP award for the linebacker group.

Penn State is sitting in a very good position for White, but we’ll see if his camp performance earns him any new offers. Right now, White only boasts a regional offer list — Maryland, Boston College, Pitt, etc. Wouldn’t be surprising to see some bigger Big Ten (Sorry, Rutgers) or ACC (Not sorry, Narduzzi) teams join the pursuit, but again, the Nittany Lions are situated pretty well here regardless of who else comes calling.
Truss Wraps Up Tour
Four-star OT Xavier Truss had a busy last couple of days, taking visits to Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and Penn State. He talked with Rivals about all those visits, but here’s what he had to say about his trip to Happy Valley.
“This was my second time at Penn State,” he said. “Last time I went I was there for the Nebraska game. We met the staff for a little bit before that game but it was really busy because it was game day and we couldn’t take much time to sit down and talk. The following day we spent a long time with Coach Barthel and he made it a point to show us around. That was nothing compared to what we did on Monday. Last time we were there on the students were on Thanksgiving break so the campus was pretty dead. This time we were there during the day and we got to see what campus life was like while classes were going on. We got to spend pretty much the whole day going around with coach Franklin. We tried The Creamery this time which is pretty cool. We saw the stadium and the business building and talked with the academic advisor. He’s a pretty cool guy. They were pretty straightforward about how their business school is hard but they want you to succeed.
I think it’s a good sign that the Penn State staff was able to get Truss back to campus on his way back from his southern tour. It’s been a while since he was last in Happy Valley, so to halt some of the SEC (and Clemson) momentum is a welcomed sight. But as I touched on previously, Truss’ recruitment will be a dog fight, as he has offers from just about every school in the country.
Four-Star MD OT Planning on Visiting Penn State
Keeping with the offensive tackle theme, four-star OT William Harrod talked with 247Sports, and said that he planned on visiting a few schools in the coming weeks, with the Nittany Lions getting one of those visits. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Maryland product doesn’t have an offer from Penn State yet, but one could be coming down the pike soon. He currently has offers from Michigan, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Oregon, so the Nittany Lions would be joining a solid group if they were to pull the trigger.
