MMQB: What Was Your Main Takeaway from the Blue-White Game?

Let’s hear your thoughts on Penn State’s Blue—White Game performance.

NCAA Football: Penn State Blue White Game Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Well, another Blue-White Game is in the books. Now, we patiently wait until Penn State welcomes Appalachian State on Sept. 1 to kick off the 2018 season. To fill the time, we’ll have plenty to discuss and questions to answer as Penn State hopes to reclaim the Big Ten Championship, with an eye on making its first College Football Playoff appearance if all the stars align just right.

With that in mind, what was your biggest takeaway from the Blue-White Game? Overall, it was a fairly uneventful afternoon as the Blue squad exited with a 21-10 victory against the team in all white. But there were a few things to glean about the state of the program in 2018 and beyond:

-Mac Hippenhammer and KJ Hamler should both contribute in a deep set of wide receivers as redshirt freshman.

-Actually, there will be many redshirt freshman seeing time in 2018, and quickly become leaders of the team in the near future.

-Penn State looks to be in fantastic shape at the quarterback position for a long time, as both Sean Clifford and Jake Zembiec put in impressive performances.

-Despite losing so much from last season, Penn State’s secondary looks incredibly deep and should not experience much of a drop off from a year ago.

-Blake Gillikin could be a very busy man this fall.

-Keegan Michael Key’s impression of James Franklin will never get old.

So what say you, dear BSD readers? What was your biggest takeaway from Penn State’s 2018 Blue-White Game?
