Penn State safety Marcus Allen has found his NFL home after being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 11th pick of the 5th round.
Allen has been a mainstay in the Nittany Lions secondary since becoming a starter midway through the 2014 season as a redshirt freshman. Throughout his collegiate career, Allen amassed 320 tackles, three sacks, 17 TFLs and an interception. He also had a penchant for making clutch plays, including perhaps the biggest play in recent memory at Penn State:
Allen was especially ferocious in run support, using his top-flight speed and instincts to constantly deliver devastating hits to ballcarriers. He has the athleticism to shut down his side of the field, and can be used across the field depending on the situation.
Congratulation, Marcus, and best of luck in Pittsburgh!
