We’re down to just 97 days until Penn State takes on Appalachian State at Beaver Stadium to kick off the 2018 season.
Ryan Buchholz will be back to start opposite of Shareef Miller at defensive end, giving Penn State a fearsome pass rush this fall. The redshirt junior will be looked upon as one of the primary leaders of a young defense, and will mentor the talented bunch of defensive linemen who are starting to learn the ropes.
Buchholz started six games in 2017 after taking over for Torrence Brown, but found himself on the injury list towards the end of the season. He managed to return for the regular season finale against Maryland to cap off a season where he contributed two sacks, 18 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Expect those numbers to climb in 2018 as he becomes a full-time starter from the very get-go as one of Penn State’s most talented defensive linemen.
Just 97 more days until it’s time for some Penn State Football!
