Only Kyle Vasey Until Penn State Football

We’re paying tribute to an unsung hero as we continue our countdown to the start of the 2018 season.

Today we pay tribute to Penn State’s #96, long snapper Kyle Vasey. The long snapper position is always taken for granted until something goes wrong, so even the most ardent Nittany Lion faithful may not be too familiar with Vasey. Well, here’s your chance to learn about the Lackawaxen, Pa. native.

Vasey took over long snapper duties in 2017, starting all 13 games. He’ll now return to his starting role in 2018 as a senior. Vasey earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2017 thanks to his work in the classroom as a rehabilitation and human services major. He’s not the only Vasey on the team- his brother Dan is a walk-on long snapper who hopes to take over for Kyle in 2019.

We’re just 96 days away from the start of Penn State’s 2018 season!
