We’re inching closer to a new season for Penn State Football, standing at 93 days until Penn State welcomes Appalachian State to kick off the 2018 campaign.
Blake Gillikin immediately added a substantial boost to Penn State’s special teams as a true freshman in 2016, and shows no signs of slowing down. Gillikin is poised to push for All-American status with his powerful leg and ability to pin opponents back deep in their own territory. As a sophomore, Gillikin averaged 43.2 yards per punt, while also managing to down a punt inside the 10-yard line 18 times. In addition to his success on the field, Gillikin also received Academic All-Big Ten honors for his work in the classroom.
Gillikin could potentially add to his role this fall, as he will be in competition for the placekicking and kickoff specialist jobs throughout the summer.
Only 93 more days, folks!
