NO RIVALS, SORRY NOT SORRY
In a Twitter video with Whistle Sports, Saquon Barkley said that Penn State didn’t really have a rival.
New York Giants or Penn State? @saquon has ALL the answers pic.twitter.com/klbzmW9pDi

I don’t know if you’re hearing what I’m hearing, but that’s the sound of Eleven Warriors commenters typing furiously to remind everyone that Penn State actually thinks it is rivals with Ohio State, but Ohio State does not view Penn State as one. Because they don’t care at all. Nope, not even a little bit.
ESPN PROJECTS CARR TO HORNETS
Penn State basketball will be hoping Tony Carr will be its first player taken in the NBA draft since Calvin Booth in 1999. Right now, most projections have Carr in the mid-to-late second, with the folks at ESPN having Carr being selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 55 pick.
GESICKI’S SLOW START IN MIAMI
Miami Herald reporter Adam Beasley points out that Mike Gesicki’s first few weeks with the Dolphins hasn’t been terrific. Beasley says of Gesicki: “In the four practices open to reporters this spring, the rookie out of Penn State has been a non-factor. He has even looked lost at times.”
This doesn’t come as too big of a surprise. While Gesicki is a gifted athlete and receiver, he isn’t a good blocker, and there was always going to be an adjustment period at the next level because of it. As you might remember, Gesicki didn’t have the hottest starts here in Happy Valley either. Let’s hope a similar turnaround happens in South Beach.
THE (800M) CHAMP (ISAIAH HARRIS) IS HERE
Penn State junior Isaiah Harris won the 800M national title at the NCAA Championships last weekend, finishing with a time of 1:44.76. As Onward State points out, Harris is the first Penn State athlete to win the 800M national title since 1923, when Alan Helffrich took home the gold.
HOCKEY CROOTIN’
Onward State sweet boy Mikey Mandarino has the lowdown on Penn State hockey’s latest commit: Will Cuylle. Apparently, Cuylle is very good at doing the hockey as he was picked No. 3 overall in the OHL Draft by the Peterborough Petes (sick name) in April. He decided against playing in the OHL to instead play at Penn State, which I’m told is a “big deal, bud.” From the sounds of it, he’s clearly not a bender.
PAT’S PENN STATE YOUTUBE VIDEO OF THE WEEK
So I don’t do the SWHs all that much, but from now on when I do them, I’m going to post a Penn State YouTube video I enjoy. Today, The Rock starting a “We Are” chant at a RAW in State College way back in the day.
