Only Connor McGovern Until Penn State Football

Penn State almost certainly has a future NFL player in McGovern

We’re at double sixes, 66 days until Penn State hits the field for its opening game against Appalachian State.

That mean’s today is Connor McGovern day at BSD.

McGovern, simply put, is a stud.

The Lake Lehman, Pa. product is entering his third season as a starter for Penn State and his second as the starting center. He’s started since his true freshman season and has become one of the best linemen in the Big Ten.

While McGovern appeared to struggle ever so slightly with the transition from guard to center early last season, by the end of the year he was terrific, especially in the Fiesta Bowl against first-round 2018 NFL Draft Pick Vita Vea.

Heading into the 2018 season, McGovern is listed at 6-foot-5, 326 pounds and is settling into the center position he called home throughout high school. Don’t be surprised if the big lad takes another step forward and becomes not only one of the best centers in the conference, but one of the best country.
