HIGHLIGHTS

THE TALE

After Harrisburg (PA) linebacker Andre White surprisingly committed to Texas A&M earlier in the cycle, a lot of folks were concerned about Penn State finding an big, talented outside linebacker for the 2019 class.

In steps Dixon.

Long thought to be a Sparty lean early in on in the recruiting cycle, momentum really began to swing toward PSU after a February visit for Junior Day. He returned to campus in June for an official visit ahead of planned visits to Wisconsin and Michigan. While he did recently visit the Badgers, he cancelled the visit to Harbaugh and Sons and made the call for the Nittany Lions at The Opening.

OUTLOOK

Dixon is incredibly fast and agile for his size and, at 6-3 with long arms, has a great frame to add weight to under the watchful eye of Dwight Galt.

Similar to many recent Penn State linebacker recruits, he’s moved from safety to linebacker as he’s grown but has seemed to maintain that athleticism that allowed him to be so good in the secondary. He’s shown to be more than adequate in coverage and as he adds size he should become more disruptive in the run game. His burst also allows him to be a dangerous edge rusher in the same vein as Koa Farmer.
