NCAA Football: Big Ten Championship-Wisconsin vs Penn State Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Looking to Move Up USA Today released its preseason Big Ten rankings, with Penn State coming in at #3 behind Ohio State and Wisconsin. Any of these lists will be interesting, with what seems like little separation between the consensus top five Big Ten teams heading into 2018- Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan and Michigan State. Coming in at dead last is Illinois, which Penn State will open up conference play against on Friday (yes, Friday), Sept. 21. Speaking of contenders, Athlon lays out reasons why Michigan State could make its way back to the Playoffs after returning plenty of talent from an overachieving 2017 squad. CBS wonders if the Big Ten is the best conference in college football as they break down each team.

Great Scott! Penn State’s likely starting safety and two-time team captain Nick Scott has been honored for his outstanding work in the community. Scott will look to lead the defense and provide key leadership for a young defense, while also delivering bone-crunching hits as Marcus Allen’s successor.

The Mind Of Moorhead Mississippi State head coach, and former Penn State offensive coordinator, Joe Moorheand broke down five key elements of his offensive attack that transformed the Nittany Lions offense and will now be on full display every Saturday in the SEC. It’s quite a fascinating read.

Media Day Mishap North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora, which sounds like a made up name of someone who is attempting to reinvent themselves after moving to Brooklyn, had perhaps the worst performance at a conference media day in some time. Apparently, Fedora believes that the fate of American society relies on special teams plays and more helmet-to-helmet contact. Some are even going as far as saying Fedora has no business coaching college football following the odd remarks.

More than the Jet Sweep Victory Bell Rings takes a close look at how the speedy Brandon Polk fits into the offense, which is well stacked with talent at the receiver position despite the departure of all-time receptions leader DaeSean Hamilton.
