Fifth-year senior Torrence Brown chose Penn State coming out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and after redshirting in 2014, appeared in 13 games in his redshirt-freshman year, including recording sacks against Rutgers and Michigan. Brown started four games in 2016, finishing third in the Big Ten in fumble recoveries and making 33 tackles. His redshirt-junior season was cut short after the defensive end suffered a knee injury against Georgia State. The team voted him the recipient of the Bob Mitinger Memorial Award for courage, character, and social responsibility. Brown is not expected to play against Appalachian State, but will hope to make it to the field later in 2018.
