High school football season kicked off in the state of North Carolina on Friday night. One of the schools in action was the South View High School Tigers led by three-star Penn State wide receiver commit Emery Simmons.
After a strong summer on the camp circuit, Simmons picked up where he left off at by shining in his team’s season opener.
In a 24-14 victroy over Jack Britt High School, Simmons hauled in seven passes for 140 yards. He also caught a pair of touchdowns. To read more about Simmons’ performance check out what Brad Crawford of 247 Sports had to say after being in attendance for the game.
While Simmons was the lone Penn State commit in action this weekend, high school football season will be in full swing across the country starting this upcoming week.
As the 2019 high school football season unfolds every Tuesday here at BSD I will have a recap of how PSU commits performed in action that previous weekend. So, starting on August 28, make sure to check in with BSD each Tuesday to see how the future Nittany Lions performed the previous weekend.
