Ellis Brooks was a late pickup for the Nittany Lions on the recruiting trail, with Penn State offering and landing a commitment from the four-star Brooks after longtime commit Dylan Rivers flipped his pledge to Virginia Tech.
Brooks spent his first season at Penn State redshirting, and is now vying for the MIKE linebacker job along with a host of others — redshirt junior Jan Johnson, senior Jake Cooper, and freshman Jesse Luketa. At 6-foot-1, 237 pounds, Brooks is a thickly built linebacker that does his best work in the box against the run. While he might not be the most athletic linebacker, he’s a smart, instinctual player who has been noted for his leadership qualities in the past.
We are just 13 days away from Penn State football!
