College football is around the corner which means it’s time for preseason rankings. After starting last year at No. 6, Penn State will once again start the season in the top ten, this year coming in at No. 9.

To no surprise, the Alabama Crimson Tide top the rankings, hauling in 61 of the 65 first-place votes. Clemson comes in at No. 2, headlined by its devastating defensive line. The Big Ten is represented at No. 3 with the Ohio State Buckeyes, who have had a very quiet offseason.
Other teams of note:
- Wisconsin came in at No. 7, two spots ahead of Penn State. I actually think that’s fair.
- Michigan State is at No. 12 and Michigan is at No. 14. Personally, I’m a little surprised the coaches are that far down on the Wolverines.
- Mississippi State, who is coached by my dad Joe Moorhead, gets ranked No. 18 which is cool.
- Texas is ranked No. 21 because it is Texas.
