If you’re a Penn State football fan, you’ve likely complained about the state of the program’s nonconference schedule over the last five years or so.
Well, your prayers may be getting answered. Though it will take some patience.
Per a report from 247Sports.com, Athletic Director Sandy Barbour is working toward a home-and-home series with Texas.
That’s the good news!
The bad news?
Well, apparently this series is slated for 2030 and 2031.
In the mean time, Penn State has future home-and-home series’ scheduled with Virginia Tech (‘20, ‘25), Auburn (‘21, ‘22) and West Virginia (‘23, ‘24).
Should the Nittany Lions add the Longhorns to that slate, it would mark the sixth and seventh times the two programs have met, with Penn State holding a 3-2 lead in the series.
