Trace McSorley was a 6’0, 182-pound three-star prospect that many colleges believed would project better at safety. “Not tall enough,” they said. “Arm not strong enough,” they said. “Too scrawny,” they said.
Fortunately though, overrated James Franklin saw past the alleged lack of measurables, and offered the three-star McSorley while he was at Vanderbilt. McSorley committed to the Commodores shortly thereafter. But, as fate would have it, McSorley would end up in Happy Valley, following James Franklin to Penn State in January 2014.
Since then? Well, it’s worked out okay.
