THE TALE
Averaging over 21 points and nine rebounds per game his junior season, Justin McKoy caught the eye of Pat Chambers and his staff, as the Nittany Lions offered him in mid-July and hosted him for a visit in late August. That was apparently enough to secure the small forward out of North Carolina’s commitment, giving PSU its third commitment in the 2019 class.

THE OUTLOOK
Just looking at a highlight video of his on the YouTubes (see video above), McKoy appears to be that prototypical small forward who is capable of both nailing three-pointers and taking it to the rim. It will sure be helpful for him if Lamar Stevens comes back for his senior season, as he can spend his freshman year learning from Lamar before potentially getting thrust into a starting role his sophomore year as the heir apparent at the 3 spot.
Justin’s commitment is yet another verbal from a front court/wing player, as the other two commits in the 2019 class Abdou Tsimbila and Patrick Kelly are listed a power forward and small forward, respectively.
Given that Josh Reaves and Satchel Pierce will have graduated and Mike Watkins/Lamar Stevens may very well forego their final season of eligibility in 2019, recruiting front court players is priority number one for the coaching staff and they took another step towards filling the gaps with today’s news.
Welcome to Penn State, Justin!
