There were a couple nervous moments early, but Penn State is riding high this week after dominating Kent State 63-10. Plenty of Nittany Lions had special days, but the team was still exposed in certain areas.

Audrey Snyder provided her takeaways from the contest, highlighted by a revolving door at the linebacker position.

The Nittany Lions will look to keep the momentum rolling as they travel to Champaign, Ill. to take on the Illini this weekend.

The Nittany Lions haven’t played a Friday night game in over three decades, and while James Franklin isn’t a fan of Friday night contests, he may be comforted by the program’s most recent history with kicking off the weekend.

Onward State documents the all-time matchup between the two squads, in which Penn State holds a significant edge.

Illini coach Lovie Smith had plenty of praise for the Nittany Lions, especially Trace McSorley. While Sean Clifford has been extraordinary as McSorley’s backup, this weekend could see the usual No. 2 — and starting Lion — return to the playing field.
