A bevy of bye weeks have hit us, and so we have just five games to choose from this week. Unfortunately, those games are decidedly meh (outside of a certain clash under the lights at Beaver Stadium). But still we must soldier on! Read on, make your own picks, and see if you know better than the masthead!

Central Michigan isn’t a fantastic football team, but you know what? Neither is Michigan State. I fully expect the Spartans to win this game, but asking them to win by more than four touchdowns? That’s a tough task.

Remember when Rutgers wasn’t terrible? Yeah me either. If Buffalo can win by 29, I think Indiana can win by 18.

Oh the humanity! Avert your eyes! Won’t someone think of the children! Do you like to watch bad football? Then this game is for you. In the pillow fight of the week of the month, two really bad football teams will attempt not to be quite so bad as their opponent. Someone has to win, per the rule book, but it will not be the fans.

And on the other side of things, we have one really good team going against one really not good team. The point spread here seems almost laughable, but then Vegas does seem to know what it’s doing. I’ll go with the Wolverines pretty easily.

BSD Challenge

Check out the staff’s picks below. For reference, the line used for the Penn State - Ohio State game was OSU -4.5. The masthead was unanimous for just one game:

• Michigan -13 over Northwestern

That leaves four games up for grabs:

Only Cari and I think the Chippewas have a chance against Sparty, while Tim actually thinks Rutgers won’t be destroyed by Indiana. Tim and Clay also think Nebraska can keep it close against the Boilermakers. Lastly, the majority of the writers think Ohio State covers on Saturday against Penn State, myself included. Prove us wrong boys!
